This week our episode is called wonderful wonders for wonderful spelled o n e d er SQL, like the number one, like one hit wonders. So let's get started. If anyone ever asked you to work on a list of one hit wonders, do yourself a favor, smile, pivot and flee full speed in the opposite direction. We all know what a one hit wonder is right? No, you actually probably don't. We're still not sure we've entirely figured it out. The standard definition of a one hit wonder is a band who has cracked the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 only once. But what happens if you had a late career single making it? 41? No, sorry, thanks for playing but charting at 41 isn't the same as 40. Right? No, well, maybe it gets no easier when you have to wade through dozens of other Billboard charts that count for everything except apparently determining a one hit wonder. And what about all of those other charts and other countries? Yeah, it's complicated. Let's talk about the standard definition. A one hit wonder is a musical artist who is successful with one hit song, but without a comparable subsequent hit. The term may also be applied to an artist who is remembered for only one hit despite other successes. Musical reviewers and journalists sometimes describe musical artists as a one hit wonder based upon their professional assessment of card success, sales figures or fame. I like to point out how some artists have been called a one hit wonder despite having other charting singles. In these cases. One signature song so overshadowed the rest of the artists discography that only one song remains familiar to later audiences. Like I said, it's complicated, but finding some great songs to play for you was not without any further ado, I bring you the wonderful wonders
